The Hibernians keep busy planning fun and engaging events for you to enjoy. We're also like to do things to support our great community. Below you'll find an overview of some of our more prominent events and activities.
The St. Patrick's Parade season kick off in September with the Halfway to St. Patrick's Parade celebration. Join the HIbernians at O'Shea's Irish Pub on Baxter Ave. for good music, great music and a fun time. As if that wasn't enough, we also reveal the parade theme during the celebration!
Ready to dress up and enjoy the premier pre-parade event? Join us at the Wearing O' The Green gala and enjoy an evening of live music, dancing and of course delicious food. There is a cash bar to help loosen your grip on your wallet as you bid on amazing silent auction items (all profits go to charity). You don't want to miss this event!
This is one of our key parade-week events and starts at Goodwood Brewing Spirits on Market Street. Join the Hibernians and our awesome priest as he blesses the very special keg of beer brewed by Goodwood specifically for the parade.
The fun doesn't end at Goodwood. The party moves to O'Shea's Irish Pub on Baxter Ave. where we'll tap the keg. Have a pint or three and enjoy the camaraderie!
One of the long-standing ways that the community can get involved in celebrating St. Patrick and the Parade is through our coloring contest.
The contest is open to all area students in kindergarten through 4th grade. Three winners are chosen from each grade and the grand prize winner receives $100.

The Hibernians believe in starting the St. Patrick's Parade off on the right foot. In this case, it's Noon mass at St. Brigid Church on Hepburn Ave. Join the Hibernians and our division Chaplain for a wonderful mass to set the right tone for the parade. You'll feel better about the pre-parade pint that you have after mass!
Hailed by many as the premier and best attended parade in the city. The parade steps off precisely at 3 PM EST on the Saturday B, so be sure to get there early to find a parking spot and get a great seat to enjoy the floats! This family-friendly event is always a winner! The parade draws over 100,000 spectators when the weather is good, so bring your patience.
Want to learn more about the parade and all the great sponsors that help to make it happen? Check out our St. Patrick's Parade page.
The Irish want to make everything green! Join the Hibernians after the parade as we help make Louisville just a little bit greener by planting trees in our community!
Love golf? Join the Hibernians in September at our annual Irish for Kids golf scramble. Feeling lucky? Try your luck at our Hole in One Challenge for a chance to win a trip to Ireland. Enjoy an amazing day on the course with good company and all proceeds go to charity! That's a win-win!!
The Hibernians believe that every good golf scramble should end in a hooley (Irish for party). Join us at Molly Malone's Irish Pub and Restaurant on Baxter for good food and drinks to close out a great day!
Click here to download the forms if you'd like to be a hole sponsor and/or enter a team in the scramble.
Ring in the IRISH new year with the Hibernians at Flanagan's Ale House on Baxter Ave. on New Year's Eve. Enjoy amazing food and drink and then help ring in the IRISH new year as the ball drops at 7 PM EST (Midnight in Dublin, Ireland).
This family-friendly event is the perfect start to your NYE celebration. Or, you can go home, get comfortable and ring in the new year in the US from you couch!
If you've lived in Louisville for any length of time, then you've probably heard of the St. X vs. Trinity High School football rivalry.
The Hibernians present the Shillelagh trophy to the winner of the St. X vs. Trinity football game at Cardinal Stadium after the game. The Shillelagh has a gold medallion for each year that St. X won the game and a silver medallion for each year Trinity took home the win. Winner keeps the Shillelagh for the year for bragging rights!
The Hibernians like to socialize. Each month we hold a social gathering at one of our parade sponsor's businesses. This gives us the opportunity to give back to our sponsors and everyone has a great time! Come out and join us for good food and/or raise a pint with us in a toast to friendship!
